This is a wonderful new beginning.

You will want to get into an extended Christian family. We call them local churches. You will want to be baptized. I am sure you have questions about that. Your church will help you in that.

You will want to start regularly reading the Bible, we will be glad to help you get started, we know it can seem intimidating at the beginning. A good place to start is one of the four accounts of Jesus life, the gospel of John.

As you have been talking to the Lord, you will want to continue that conversation with Him. He is the help you will need. Tell Him everything. Thank Him. When you mess  up, and you will, admit your sin right away and ask Him to enable you to turn to Him the next time your are tempted to do the wrong things.

I do need to warn you there is an enemy. The devil is real and he will work against you.

You will need to learn as soon as possible how to:

. . . be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. (Ephesians 6.9-10)
Resist him, firm in your faith (1 Peter 5:9).

You will discover that the Lord has made many promises. He keeps them. None is most important than this one.

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Hebrew 13.5-6)
