Unless you are sure that you have already been born again and are in fact saved, then this is point where you need to move from reading to receiving. From thinking to trusting.

You need to get alone with God and deal with Him on the basis of everything you’ve just read.

  • Acknowledge to Him that you are by nature a sinner and have dishonored Him.
  • Acknowledge that the wage you deserve is only His judgment, only death.
  • Tell Him that you want to receive His life, His gift. Say to Him that you know that even the fact that you are seeking Him and trusting Him now is His gift to you.
  • Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

I would encourage you to read the words below carefully and then do them.

Romans 10:9-11 ESV

9  … confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (Lord means “boss”,”leader”)

and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10  For with the heart one believes and is justified (declared righteous and clean and holy),

and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

11  For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

Whereever you are at right now, the Lord is there. He has been speaking and waits for you to reply. He knows every thought in you mind, but I encourage to speak out loud your commitment to him.

That’s what the verse said:

Confess with your mouth.

For many, coming to life in Jesus is a very emotional moment. For others not as much.

Your faith does not rest on what you feel, although feelings and emotions will be an important part of your life in Christ. Your faith is not faith because of something you feel. It is not faith in faith.

Your faith is placed in God and what He has done and promised you in His Son Jesus Christ.

Stand on that.
